CURIOSITY OVER STIGMA. FACTS OVER FEAR.

LOOK BEYOND THE HEADLINE

News, research, and the questions behind them.

A headline can open a conversation. Understanding the source is what makes it useful. This hub brings together our existing coverage and independent resources for reading more critically.

News archive: Browse published THC & Me news coverage. Older reports describe events at their publication dates; this page is not a live breaking-news feed.

Five questions for any new study.

  1. What was actually studied? A retail product, a prescription medicine, one isolated compound, or something in a laboratory?
  2. Who was included? People with a specific condition are not the same as the general population.
  3. What does the design establish? An association does not, by itself, prove cause and effect.
  4. How meaningful were the results? Look at the size of the effect, adverse effects, and uncertainties rather than a headline alone.
  5. What is missing? Funding, conflicts, follow-up time, limitations, and findings that did not fit the headline all belong in the picture.

Independent places to start.

These organizations are sources, not sponsors or endorsers of THC & Me. Check each resource’s update date and the research it cites.

Legal headlines need a second date.

For any policy story, check both the article’s publication date and the effective date of the action described. Distinguish a proposal, a passed bill, a signed law, an agency rule, and a court order. Identify the jurisdiction and product covered before drawing a practical conclusion.

Our archive should not be treated as a current state-by-state legal clearance tool. Consult the relevant official materials and qualified advice for an individual situation.
